+News+ +Rules and FAQ+ +Tutorial and References+ +Member+ +Staff+ +Chat+Hello, greetings and welcome, everyone, to the dAC! We know how all of you have been on the edge of your seats in anticipation for this very day!
What, no? You havent? Oh! Thats right. How can you be in anticipation of something that youve been doing on your own all along?
Thats right, the dAC is merely a group composed of artists who are aiming to improve their skills, strengthen their weak points, and, overall, build up confidence in their abilities. And how are we going to do all of this? Well, thats a secret
but since youre so nice to take the time to visit us, well share it with you. Although, its really not much of a secret, if you think about it. Youve heard it before and theres no doubt in our mind that youll hear it again. We can even guarantee you that every artist youve ever idolized lives by this single, short and simple golden rule:
Practice.
Practice? Practice? Is that really it? Theres no magic pencil? No secret cupcake to eat? A club that we can joinoh wait, yes there is!
Unfortunately, yes, that is the one method that one must follow for the most success in improving ones abilities. Its time consuming, in a world where time is such a precious commodity, and the results arent immediate, which is a problem in our world that is all about instant gratification, but we can guarantee that you will improve.
All right, so now that you know the secret, Im sure youre wondering what this club will do to help. Well, for one, this is a club, so youll be able to interact with others who are working towards the same goaland a little bit of friendly competition once in a while can help in keeping you from slacking off.
What is our goal? Basically, we just want you to get into the habit of picking up your pencil and sketching on a daily basis (can you see the connection here?). What we want from you is to compile all those sketches you made every day during the week (in fact, the more time you put into them and the more sketches you make, the betterremember, this is all for your sake, not ours) and note the club of your weekly quota (you can file them away in your scraps). Although, we know you can be pressed for time, ten minutes isnt a lot, is it? Just ten minutes a day, making a sketch of a reference you have to improve your abilities.
Now we know that sometimes its hard to get those references, but thats what were here for! We are constantly working on increasing our tutorial/reference library to help make it easier for you to find what you need in order to work efficiently to your goals. We know it can get frustrating when you feel like youre not improving, but stick with us and surely youre abilities will improve and your love for art will continue to blossom.
Remember, the secret to being a great artist is practice and confidence! Youll be surprised about how just a little bit of practice every day can go a long way.
